Week 1 Resources
Dear Families,
Here is our first Weekly Activity Sheet. First Grade
Please refer to the attached document or the link above. To some, this may not seem like enough, to others it may seem overwhelming. These documents were created by groups of educators in ISD and are being sent to all first graders in the district. This is to ensure equality to all first graders. Please do what you feel is best for your child. Some may choose to do all, while others will do little, it is completely up to your family!
These are very challenging times for everyone. Many families that I know are concerned about health, finances and well-being rather than school right now. It is not my intent to overwhelm families.
For families that are wanting more, here are some more ideas:
Later in the week, I will send out an e mail with regard to holding Google Zoom meetings with the kids. This technology is new to me but I am learning as we go. In the last few days I have taught myself Google Zoom, Wakelet and Microsoft Teams. My brain is on technology overload.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as this is new to everyone. Each week, our learning will evolve and grow. I am available through Seesaw Messaging or my e mail any time. Please reach out as I miss everyone so much!
Thank you,
Laurissa Engelhardt

For families that are wanting more, here are some more ideas:
- Practice math through the website Clever by using either Zearn, Happy Numbers or Splash Math. The class code for Splash Math is ETUCLV
- Record your child giving an opinion of a book that they read. Post it on seesaw or e mail to me and I will post.
- The website/app called EPIC is a great source for kids to listen to books read aloud. It is full of familiar titles kids will love. The students have been using this already throughout the year. Our classroom code is tkp0379. If this does not work for your student please email me and I will send you the link to your email.
- The author of the Pete The Cat books is having kids write letters to him. This could be fun for kids. He is also doing story times on Instagram daily. See the attached photo.
